Police arrested a 37-year-old man who escaped custody after allegedly assaulting his wife in front of their kids in Aiea last month.

A man who escaped from police custody on Feb. 11 was found hiding between a wall and a bed in a Palm Bay home, around 12 miles from where the hospital where he ran from police.

Investigators say Smith was last seen running eastbound on East 67th Street toward the canal.
