Google Maps will depend more heavily on artificial intelligence to help people figure out where they want to go and the best way to get there as part of a major redesign unveiled on Thursday.

Google Maps is getting a new Gemini-powered Ask Maps feature to ask questions in natural language along with new Immersive Navigation.

The AI-powered experience is claimed to be built on information about more than 300 million places available on Google Maps.
